Elections Ontario working with hydro companies to restore power to polling stations

By Alex Black

Power outages caused by the powerful storm that swept Ontario and Québec on Saturday, May 21 are continuing to affect some advanced polling stations in Ottawa, and across the province.

Some polling stations remain closed due to outages and Elections Ontario says some are operating safety as paper polls.

Elections Ontario also says it is working with Hydro One and Hydro Ottawa to restore power to affected voting locations and that some polling stations will be relocated due to downed power lines or trees.

For those who wish to head out and vote, the most up-to-date information on the status of voting locations is available on the Elections Ontario Voter Information Service page, through the Elections Ontario app or by calling 1-888-668-8683.
