Inmate dies at Millhaven Institution, OPP launches investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad is investigating a death at Millhaven Institution near Kingston, Ontario.
On Ja. 8, the Penitentiary Squad responded after the Correctional Service of Canada reported that an inmate had been located with life-threatening injuries. Victor James, 29, was later pronounced deceased.
An investigation by the Penitentiary Squad, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of Correctional Services of Canada and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service, is ongoing.
