Kanata resident wins big on OLG crossword game

A Kanata woman is a lot more rich after a big lottery win from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).

Theresa Monette of Kanata is taking home $250,000 after winning the top prize in an OLG Instant Crossword Deluxe.

“I was shocked and surprised,” Monette said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her win. “My husband was much calmer when I told him the news.”

The mother of two and grandmother of three said that when she discovered her win, she had to count the number of zeroes over and over.

Monette plans to take a trip and help her kids with her winnings.

“It feels great!” she concluded.
