Leamy Lake Park beach reopens

As of 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, the beach at Leamy Lack Park has reopened, the National Capital Commission (NCC) announced. 

The beach was closed on Aug. 11 due to poor water quality results, with class D water quality, meaning at the time, the water quality was considered polluted. 

The NCC confirmed follow ups at the site have confirmed that the water is now safe for swimming, in accordance with the standards set by the Ministre de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les Changements Climatiques (MELCC) of Québec.
