Mediation session set for two sides in Carleton University strike

By Alex Black

A one-day mediation session is being held Wednesday between the two sides in the Carleton University strike.

CUPE 2424 and the school have agreed to meet to discuss the issues surrounding the four-week work stoppage for support workers.

More than 850 administrative, technical, and library workers have been on strike since March 5.

The main sticking point in contract negotiations have been pension benefits.

Workers are back on the picket lines Wednesday, at the entrances of campus on Bronson Avenue and Colonel By Drive, so expect traffic delays.
