UPDATE:

Power has been restored

==================================================

Hydro Ottawa crews are working to restore power to a chunk of southwest Ottawa, just southwest of the airport, and north of Manotick.

The Hydro Ottawa outage centre says the outage, which started at 4:27 p.m., Monday, is affecting Barrhaven, Osgoode, Rideau-Goulbourn, Gloucester-South Nepean.

It has more than 9,000 customers in the dark.

The utility expects to have hydro fully restored by 10:30 p.m.

There has been no official word on what caused the outage, although the timing of the event coincided with a storm which blew through the area.
