OC Transpo special holiday service in effect

By Eric O'Brien

OC Transpo's special holiday service is in effect, and will continue until January 1, 2021.

During this time, there are a few schedule changes and OC Transpo says they will offer no-charge service after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. This was made possible due to a partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Ottawa and the City’s Safer Roads Ottawa Program.

Shopping routes will operate on a normal schedule throughout the holiday period, including Route 301 on December 28 and 304 on New Year’s Eve. However, Route 305 will not operate on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Para Transpo will operate on a holiday service schedule for Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s Days. Regular scheduled trips will automatically be cancelled, but customers may still book trips for these days by calling up to seven days before the holiday.

OC Transpo wants to remind riders to celebrate the holiday's with members of their own household, wear a mask when using transit and follow Ottawa Public Health recommendations to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

OC Transpo Special Holiday Service:

  • December 21-24: Reduced Weekday schedule
  • December 25: Sunday Schedule
  • December 26: Saturday schedule with extra service on busy routes
  • December 28: Saturday schedule
