One man dead, another injured in plane crash south of Smiths Falls

One man is dead and another person is injured after a plane crash south of Smiths Falls.

The Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says the ultra-lite aircraft crashed in Athens near Lower Oak Leaf Road at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 10.

The OPP Technical Support branch attended the scene to investigate.

Police have not yet released the name of the deceased.

More information will be released at a later date.
