Ottawa Public Health has sent out a letter, warning students, parents and staff at Ridgemont High School, that they may have been exposed to Tuberculosis and should be tested for the disease.
OPH confirmed to 1310 NEWS, approximately 150 students and a select number of staff may have been exposed to the person with active TB between September 4 and November 12.
So far, there have been no new TB cases found at Ridgemont.
OPH officials say a person with latent TB infection does not feel sick and is not contagious, and they cannot pass TB bacteria to another person. However, without treatment, a small percentage of people with latent TB infection may develop active TB disease later in their life.
OPH is holding a general information session for students and parents at the school, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
