Orleans school closed due to threatening emails

By Alex Black

A French Catholic Secondary School in the east end has been closed today due to threats.

Some staff at École secondaire catholique Béatrice-Desloges on Provence Avenue in Orleans received potentially threatening emails.

The emails were directed at students and staff.

The school board decided to cancel school transportation and to close the school for the day to students.

Ottawa Police tell 1310 NEWS they have received inquiries from the public,  but have not been contacted yet by the school board.

The board said updates would be posted on its website.
