Ottawa beaches open this weekend

Beach season official opens up this weekend.

Starting Saturday, lifeguards will be on duty at the city's four beaches, Petrie Island, Britannia, Mooney’s Bay and Westboro, from noon until 7 pm. daily.

The city's beach season runs from June 16 until August 26.

You can check the city's website for daily beach water sampling results, to ensure you're swimming in safe waters.

Saturday looks to be the most favourable day for swimming in terms of weather.

Saturday: Sun and cloud.
High near 28 with increasing humidity.

Sunday: Father's Day: Sun and cloud, windy, humid.
Scattered showers or thunderstorms for afternoon/early evening.
Morning low near 16.
High near 29, humidex near 38.
