Community gardens are opening in Ottawa.
Mayor Jim Watson was joined by 'Just Food's' Executive Director Moe Garahan and City Councillor Keith Egli at the Knox Church Community Garden in Nepean Friday morning to make the announcement.
The weather might be a little on the cold side but it’s heart warming to see community gardens open. These gardens are a source of fresh affordable food for many across the city. Thanks to OPH and Just Food for helping these volunteers to make sure they can garden safely. pic.twitter.com/31z5dkid0E

The provincial government decided, at the end of April, to allow community gardens to reopen after calls from concerned community members about food shortages.
Gatherings of more than five people are still prohibited due to COVID-19.
