A local Ottawa video services company is being recognized for its contribution to technology with an Emmy Award.
Ross Video is receiving an Emmy for Technology & Engineering from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) to recognize its Primestream media asset management system.
“We are delighted to be able to provide this production flexibility and advantage to our customers, and honoured to be recognized with this prestigious award,” said David Ross, CEO of Ross Video.
The company was best known for their range of products like production switchers and mixers early on when the company was founded, but now Ross Video offers an even wider range of technology, products, and services powering live video production for billions of global viewers daily.
In February, Ross Video secured a deal with the NFL to power the technology used for the Infinity Screen, the screen that hovers over the centre of the field.
The award-winning Primestream technology allows broadcasters from around the world to access content and projects remotely, to provide quick and efficient editing capabilities and project management.
“In addition to allowing broadcasters to collaborate between multiple locations, Primestream asset management system enables hybrid access models for both on premise and remote work across the globe to their advantage in producing high-quality daily news shows,” says Alan Dabul, Ross Product Manager – MAM and Storage. “Primestream accomplishes this by providing access to multiple resolutions of media files along with creative panel integrations that can dynamically switch modes of operation to adapt to the access location.”
The Technology & Engineering Emmy Award was the first Emmy Award issued back in 1949.
