A notice of motion for today's (Feb. 6) Prescott town council meeting suggests requesting the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to consider amending the Ontario Municipal Act to scrap the mandatory oath to King Charles when elected, or make it optional.

The motion will be tabled later today, and council will debate the topic later this month.
