See snow, go slow: Ottawa police respond to more than double their average daily collisions

By Victoria Williston

After a dumping of snow Thursday, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) responded to 98 collisions on area roads.

On a regular day during the pandemic, police say they usually only respond to between 30 and 40 crashes.

However, in just two hours Thursday morning, OPS had already attended more than half of their normal daily total.

Ottawa police say there were no serious injuries as a result of the collisions.
