Three people were treated for smoke inhalation as Ottawa firefighters responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls involving electric bikes on fire at a home in Ottawa's Lowertown area on New Year's Day.
The electric bikes were under a carport that was attached to a row of houses on Cathcart Street.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the fire had spread a home.
“Crews worked quickly to ensure the units of the row house were evacuated,” a release from Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said.
One person is in care of Ottawa paramedics, and the fire is under investigation.
The Salvation Army is assisting those impacted by the incident.
