uOttawa will require students living in residence to be vaccinated against COVID-19

By CityNews Ottawa

University of Ottawa students who are living in residence this fall will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to uOttawa's website, the school will not require students who are just attending classes on campus to be vaccinated, however, students will be required to received two doses of a Health Canada-approved vaccine and provide proof of vaccination before moving into residence.

This is the first post-secondary institution in Ottawa to require students to get the shot.

In an e-mail to CityNews, Algonquin College said, while it strongly encourages vaccination, it has no plans right now to require students to be vaccinated before attending classes on campus.

Carleton University is providing vaccination clinics for students and staff but is not planning to make vaccines mandatory.
