Two people have been charged in connection with the death of an infant boy in the Britannia Heights area in 2021.

The seven-week-old was found dead on Winthrop Private on October 26, 2021, and the charges follow a 16-month joint investigation between the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Homicide and Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) units.

Police have confirmed that the 35-year-old woman is the baby's mother. They have not said what relationship the 35-year-old man has to the infant.

Because of a court publication ban, the names and charges were requested to be removed.

Both appeared in court on Saturday, March 4 and have been remanded into custody.
