The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four drivers with impaired driving during the Civic Day long weekend.
On July 29, 2022, just after 11 a.m. police located and stopped a vehicle in Petawawa and as a result of this investigation, Tyler Anderson, 35, from Petawawa has been charged with following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Later during the day on July 29, 2022, around 12:30 p.m., the UOV OPP received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in the city of Pembroke. As a result of the traffic complaint, Lisa Sullivan, 46, of Pembroke, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Also on July 29, 2022, just after 11:30 p.m., UOV OPP officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic related offence on Pembroke Street West. Austyn Pallister, 24, from Petawawa, was charged with operation while impaired.
On July 30, 2022, around 8 p.m., a traffic complaint was received for a possible impaired driver in Laurentian Valley Township. UOV OPP responded and located the vehicle. Harrison Baker, 62, from Pembroke, has been charged with operation while impaired.
In all four instances, the accused persons had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. The accused persons were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
