What’s open and closed in Ottawa for the holidays

It's the most wonderful time of the year, but that also means Ottawa residents can expect closures and schedule changes around the city.
The 2020 holiday season includes a looming province-wide lockdown that begins on Boxing Day, December 26. At that time, only essential services will be open, and some stores will offer curbside pickup.
Retail 2020 Holiday Shopping Hours:
Rideau Centre:
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: Closed
Place D'Orleans:
Christmas Eve: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bayshore Shopping Centre:
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: Closed
St. Laurent Shopping Centre:
Christmas Eve: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Boxing Day: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Carlingwood Mall:
Christmas Eve: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Billings Bridge:
Christmas Eve: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Tanger Outlets:
Christmas Eve: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day: Closed
Starting Boxing Day, liquor stores are limited to 25 per cent capacity. Stores are open Christmas Eve, but will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
The lockdown means recreation and culture facilities run by the city of Ottawa will be closed, like indoor skating, museums, recreation centres and swimming pools.
However, childcare centres will remain open during the province-wide lockdown.
In-branch services at the Ottawa Public Library will be shuttered.
Ottawa's COVID-19 assessment centres will be closed on Christmas Day, and function with reduced holiday hours.
Assessment centres in Eastern Ontario have also adjusted their holiday hours.
A holiday service will be in effect for OC Transpo and Para Transpo.
