City of Ottawa schedule changes:

Recreation Services:

The Rink of Dreams at Marion Dewar Plaza at Ottawa City Hall and Skating Court at Lansdowne Park are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the heated changing facilities are open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Both are open throughout the Christmas Holidays and will be staffed on New Year's Day, weather permitting.

The following Rink of Dreams holiday schedule will apply:

New Year's Eve: Closed at 11 p.m.
New Year's Day: 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The following holiday Skating Court schedule will apply:

New Year's Eve: Closed at 1 a.m.
New Year's Day: 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Ben Franklin Place Skating Rink, located at 101 Centrepointe Drive, is also open some days – from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the heated changing facility is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The following holiday schedule will apply:

New Year's Eve: Closed at 10 p.m.
New Year's Day: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Recreation facilities are operating on modified schedules during the holiday season, and are closed on  New Year's Day. Check ottawa.ca or the facility for details.

Client services:

Ottawa City Hall is closed in its entirety on New Year's Day.

The City's Provincial Offences Court, located at 100 Constellation Crescent, and is closed on New Year's Day.

The City's 311 Contact Centre is open for urgent matters requiring immediate attention.

Garbage and recycling:

Collection on Wednesday, January 1 will take place on Thursday, January 2 and all collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Christmas trees will be collected on your regular scheduled collection day. Please remove all decorations. Christmas trees in plastic bags will not be collected.

The Trail Road waste facility will be closed on New Year's Day.

Transit service:

OC Transpo is operating a reduced schedule until January 3.

The Sexual Health Centre will be closed on  New Year's Day.

The Satellite Clinics will be closed on New Year's Day.

The Dental Clinics and Well Baby Drop-In will be closed  New Year's Day.

New Year's Day, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, January 2, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The SITE mobile van will be operating on the following schedule:

New Year's Day – regular schedule
Thursday, January 2 – regular schedule

Dental clinics are closed  New Year's Day

Cultural services:

Most programming at arts centres, archives, galleries, museums and theatres are not offered on  New Year's Day. Check ottawa.ca or the facility to confirm holiday hours.

Municipal child care services:

City-operated Child Care Centres will be closed on New Year's Day.

Ottawa Public Library:

All branches and services of the Ottawa Public Library are closed on New Year's.
