Kinaxis and Sens strike three-year partnership

By Anil Jhalli

The Ottawa Senators announced a partnership with Kinaxis, a Kanata based technology company, through the 2024-2025 National Hockey League (NHL) season.

Kinaxis, a global technology leader in supply chain management, will have its logo appear on the players' road helmets for the next three NHL regular seasons.

“This dynamic agreement with Kinaxis is important on multiple levels as we embark on an exciting new season,” said president of business operations of the Ottawa Senators Anthony LeBlanc. “This represents an exciting new partnership with a local success story that operates on the global stage. We share common philosophies towards partnering for success, investing in our community and positive employee engagement and look forward to working with Kinaxis for many years.”

The Kinaxis logo will be displayed on the Senators helmets for the first time on Thursday, Oct. 13, when Ottawa travels to Buffalo to face the Sabres in the first 2022-23 NHL regular season game for both teams.

“On behalf of the hundreds of employees based in Ottawa, it is a privilege to partner with such an amazing team,” said John Sicard, chief executive officer (CEO) of Kinaxis. “Like the Senators, Kinaxis has a long history with Ottawa and we are honoured to support the community where many of our employees live and work. Being deeply integrated in the region, Kinaxis is committed to engaging with, and giving back through partnerships that generate community pride.”

Megan Paterson, the chief human resources officer with Kinaxis, told The Sam Laprade Show on Oct. 4 that Kinaxis' logo will be appearing inside areas of the Canadian Tire Centre (CTC)

She said the company is always looking to support local initiatives and grow a wider brand awareness.

“They (the Sens organization) reached out to us, and we are really, really excited about this partnership,” she said. “We jumped at this chance and we are happy to support our Sens.”

Kinaxis recently opened a 160,000 square foot headquarters on Palladium Drive in Kanata, close to the CTC.

This sponsorship represents Kinaxis’ first in professional sports. About one-third of Kinaxis’ 1,600 employees are based in the Ottawa area.
