A 58-year-old Cornwall woman is facing a criminal charge after reports of an aggressive driver who bumped a tanker truck on Hwy. 401.
The Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen, who spotted a car swerving toward transport vehicles on Hwy. 401 EB, around 5:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the vehicle later collided with a tanker truck, east of Hwy. 137 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. A woman then fled the scene on foot.
The accused was found about 1 km away and was taken to a hospital in Brockville for medical assessment, and has since been charged with careless driving.
A portion of Hwy. 401 was closed briefly to allow for the investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed this is asked to contact the OPP at 613-345-1790 or 1-888-310-1122.
