Downtown bank robbery suspect behind bars

The Ottawa Police Service arrested a woman following a bank robbery on Bank Street, between Albert Street and Queen Street.
Officers said a woman walked into the facility around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and demanded money from the cashier. She ended up leaving the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Patrol officers were already in the area and got a suspect description from witnesses and video surveillance.
The suspect was then seen around Metcalfe Street and Queen Street minutes after the incident, and was arrested.
Sunshine Madeley, 39, of Ottawa is charged with one count of robbery.
She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
