More charges laid after woman found in forest near Arnprior, critically injured

The list of charges against a Mississippi Mills man has grown, as police have spoken with four more alleged victims.

A man, already facing attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault, will have 23 new charges added to his name as Ontario Provincial Police officers say they spoken with more victims.

Around 2:30 p.m. on September 13, Renfrew County Paramedics and members of the OPP's Renfrew Detachment responded to an injured person in the bush near Gunsmith Road, just west of Arnprior. 

At the scene, they found a woman with critical injuries. She was transported to hospital by paramedics. She remains in stable condition. 

William (Bill) Kirby, 72, of Mississippi Mills has been charged with the following offences, relating to four alleged victims:

- Uttering threats (3 counts)
- Sexual assault (2 counts)
- Pointing a firearm
- Criminal harassment (4 counts)
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault (10 counts)
- Unlawfully causing bodily harm
- Mischief
 
He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew on November 21.
