The Ontario Provincial Police in Renfrew is looking for information whoever is responsible for damage to heavy equipment in the Cobden area of Whitewater Region Township.
A CAT excavator was vandalized at a job site on Astrolabe Road overnight between May 31 and June 1. The front windshield of the excavator was smashed, out along with some of the machine's lights.
The same machine was vandalized overnight last Monday (June 4) to Tuesday (June 5). A fire extinguisher was set off inside the cab and further damage was done to the excavator's windows.
In a separate incident, a mini-excavator was stolen from a business in Renfrew last Wednesday (June 6).
The owner reported a Caterpillar brand mini-excavator, worth $100,000, with attached 30 inch HD digging bucket was stolen from Corington Construction on Gillan Road.
The machine was driven across a field to a parking lot/loading area at Scapa Tapes and then loaded onto a float and taken away.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything related to this theft late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
