Police investigating day time stabbing of elderly man in ByWard Market area

A man, believed to be in his 70's, is in serious but stable condition after a stabbing on Cumberland Street at Daly Avenue.

Ottawa Paramedics rushed the victim to the Ottawa Hospital's trauma centre around 11:30 a.m., Wednesday.

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating the incident and have said they have a suspect in mind, but not in custody.

Police do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time.
