Sword-wielding person tased and arrested in west Ottawa

The Ottawa Police Service says officers were forced to use a conducted electrical weapon when a person approached them, holding a sword.
Officers responded to a call about a disturbance on Baseline Road at Woodroffe Avenue, Thursday at 7:40 a.m.
When they arrived on the scene, police could hear screaming and items being thrown inside of a building.
After officers tried to make contact with the individual inside, the distressed person came out of the building with a sword in hand.
A CEW was deployed and the person was arrested without further incident.
There has been no word on possible charges against the arrested person.
