Facebook to unveil e-mail system

Facebook is expected to unveil its new e-mail service at a special event in San Francisco, Calif., Monday.
The new e-mail service would compete against Google’s Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail.
According to the tech blog “Tech Crunch,” the company has called its e-mail venture “Project Titan.”
Facebook has a half-billion users worldwide and analysts said e-mail is a natural expansion with the wealth of information that users provide.
The social network is now the third most valuable American Internet business.
Bloomberg reported the company has a value of $41-billion, based on the value of shares traded on private companies.
Facebook’s value is worth more than eBay and only trails Amazon.com and Google.
