Ottawa cyclists get help from Google maps

Ottawa cyclists looking for directions will soon be able to get help from Google maps.

The search engine announced this morning that  the web service will offer instructions geared to cyclists starting this week.
It will outline routes that take into account bike paths and dangerously busy roads some cyclists want to avoid.

Ottawa is one of eight Canadian cities getting access to the bicycling route-finder this week, though the Ottawa-specific service won’t be “live” for another couple of days.
