Rainfall warning in effect for the region

A rainfall warning is in effect  for the Ottawa region.

Conservation officials are warning people to stay away from fast moving rivers and streams as rain hits much of Ontario over the next few days.

A general rainfall of near 50 mm is expected in most areas by the time the rain changes over to a period of wet snow and then ends on Wednesday

Waterways in some areas are already over the normal rate, and officials say they could become even more dangerous.
