The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its warning about Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats Holiday Village Kits.
The agency is warning that people with egg allergies should avoid all packages of the product, since all UPC codes and all “best by” dates are believed affected.
Officials say the icing portion of the product contains egg which is not declared on the label and that could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people allergic to egg.
The product is known to have been distributed in Michaels, Winners and Homesense stores across Canada but the agency says it may have been sold in other stores as well.
One allergic reaction has been reported.
