A 23-year-old Ottawa man faces a slew of charges in attempted theft

A 23-year-old Ottawa man faces a slew of charges following an attempted theft Friday morning in the Hazeldean and Abbeyhill roads area.
Police were called to a home around 2a.m. after a masked man was spotted in a backyard. The suspect took off on an ATV with police after him.
After colliding with a fence, the suspect fled on foot and was arrested shortly after by K9 Officers. He was carrying a firearm, ammunition, a knife and pepper spray.
Jason Holmes is charged with more than a dozen weapon related offences as well as impaired and dangerous driving offences.
He will appear in court New Years Day.
