House Fire in Kanata

The Ottawa Fire Department has responded to a call at 21 Varley Lane near Teron Road in Kanata.

The fire was under control just after 5pm Sunday.

All occupants were out of the house and OC Transpo provided shelter due to the extreme weather conditions.

A female occupant had burns to her feet treated and was treated on-scene and was not transported to hospital.

The fire which caused heavy smoke damage is believed to have started in a second floor bedroom and be accidental.
