Seven dogs abandoned in Delta

DELTA (NEWS1130) – Seven dogs have been abandoned at a park in Delta. The Malti Poos were found at Dow Park near River Road and Huston Road on Friday and they’re now looking for new homes.

Sarah Lowe with the Delta Animal Shelter says the dogs’ ages range from puppies to about four years old and they’re fairly healthy. She says the problem is they behave like they’ve been locked in cages their whole lives.

“They’ve got urine and feces staining all over them. They are not house trained. They are completely petrified of people. They were likely breeding-stock animals that someone had to do away with,” she surmises.

Lowe says they’ve already received a few applications from people looking to adopt. The SPCA has launched an animal cruelty investigation.
