Raceway closed

The Rideau Carleton Raceway remains closed pending a decision by the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Races were cancelled earlier this week when the Ontario Racing Commission ruled the grandstand gondola area was a fire and structural hazard.
The raceway did its own inspection and found it safe, fixing a few minor problems. The commission, however, refused to give the all clear and has asked the Ministry of Labour to make a final ruling.
