Convict back behind bars

An Ottawa-area convict is back behind bars after being on the lam since Friday.
A country-wide arrest warrant was issued for 30-year-old Brent Crawford after he didn’t return to the Beaver Creek Correctional Institution which is near Gravenhurst, north of Toronto.
As it turns out, he didn’t get far.
Yesterday, Toronto police found him in a downtown Toronto rooming house while investigating an unrelated case.
Crawford is serving a life sentence for the death of a Killaloe woman fourteen years ago. He was on a three-day unescorted pass when he took off.
