Building boom for Ottawa

A building boom in Ottawa over the past four years has led to a double-digit increase in building permits.

The city’s building code services department says it received 8,816 applications in 2010, according to an analysis completed this month by city officials.

The areas seeing the highest demand for permits include Goulbourn, Kanata, Rideau, West Carleton and Central Old Ottawa, Rockcliffe Park, and Vanier.
