Action-packed Masters; many rooting for Tiger

TORONTO, Ont. – It was one of the most exciting Masters Golf Tournament in quite some time with the leaderboard jumping all over the place.
Many of these golfers seemed like they had all the right stuff, including Tiger Woods, who was leading at one point.
In fact, many golf fans were hoping he would pull off a storybook comeback.
Ian Leggatt, a commentator for Sportsnet and former PGA Tour player, told 680News he was pulling for Tiger to win.
“I think people are tired of looking at him as a bit of a sideshow out there, and they really want him to become the player he used to be,” Leggatt said.
“It was instantaneous as soon as he shot 31 on the front nine, people forgot about everything that he’s gone through in the last year-and-a-half, that now he became a golfer again.”
Although Tiger made some careless mistakes, Leggatt said this Masters has to rank way up there with some of the most exciting moments ever in golf.
Charl Schwartzel, 26, birdied the last four holes to win the green jacket.
“From there on, I just knew that it was now or never; you gotta start hitting some good shots,” Schwartzel said after his win. “I felt surprisingly very calm.”
He is only the third South African to win the Masters, and it’s only his second time playing at this tournament.
History repeated itself to the day, as Schwartzel marked the 50th anniversary of South African Gary Player’s breakthrough first international win in the Masters.
