Mandatory retirement age for Ontario firefighters to be set at 60

The provincial government has introduced legislation forcing Firefighters to retire at age 60.

The province did ban mandatory retirement age in 2006, except for certain  disciplines, like Firefighting.

In Ottawa the mandatory retirement age is already 60, as it is for 48 of the 75 unionized departments in the province.

The new retirement rules takes effect in two years.
