Marijuana march draws thousands, crowds hope for pot decriminalization

TORONTO – The pungent aroma of marijuana smoke wafted across the grounds of the Ontario Legislature, where thousands gathered to call for pot laws to be loosened.

Specifically, they called for easier access to medical marijuana, or the decriminalization of pot itself.

Among the rally organizers was Neev Tapiero, who says about 10 million Canadians smoke pot at least once a month.

And, Tapiero says it just doesn’t make any sense to brand all those millions of Canadian as criminals.

But many at yesterday’s protest said that with a majority Conservative government in Ottawa, there’s little chance possession of small amounts of pot will be legalized within the next four years.
