Rockland grass fire extinguished

A grass fire has been extinguished in Rockland.

The Ottawa Fire Department responded to a call on Canaan Road about the fire at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning. 15 firefighters arrived on scene and the fire was put out by 10:30, said Ottawa Fire spokesperson Marc Messier.

Ontario Provincial Police arrived at the fire first and attempted to put it out using extinguishers, but grew concerned when the flames started threatening a nearby shed.
