Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separating

The couple has been married for 25 years and a spokesman for the actor and former California Governor issued a statement announcing the news Monday night.

The statement says after “a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer,” they decided to live apart.

They have four children.

Schwarzenegger finished his second term as Governor in January.

Shriver is a former correspondent for NBC News.
