Vanier man faces life sentence for killing landlord

A 28-year-old Vanier man is looking at life behind bars with no chance at parole for at least 13 years for killing his landlord in a violent rage after being evicted.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dalibor Orsag pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Said Kasbury.

Orsag said he knocked Kasbury unconscious, strangled him and then set Kasbury’s office on fire in February 2010.

Shortly after police and firefighters arrived at the scene, Orsag admitted to the killing and was taken into custody.
