O’Connor Street jammed because of construction

With Bank Street construction well under way traffic is now being rerouted onto O’Connor Street, just east of the main thoroughfare.
That’s creating traffic headaches bringing the hundreds of cars, bikes and pedestrians as well as the buses onto the side street.
Tuesday afternoon will be the first test of the commute home and will likely see major congestion as people adjust to four-way-stops and increased numbers of cars on the road.
And being primarily residential with homes and an elementary school, many say the traffic isn’t welcome.
However those taking public transit say they don’t mind walking the extra block to catch the bus.
And for people like Anna, it’s actually closer.
She says that while the traffic won’t bother her, she’s worried about its effect on the school nearby with young children who walk up and down this street.
