Ottawa Race Weekend Winners

Ottawa’s 37th Annual Race Weekend has seen several winners already.
Eric Gillis was the first Canadian to cross the 10k finish line but he didn’t cross it first.
Deriba Merga from Ethiopia took first place during the 10k, and Deer Tune also from Ethiopia took home the women’s category in the 10k.
Antoine Laforte took the 2k Race in the men’s category, and Marie-Piere Cloutier won the women’s.
The 5k winners were Ryan McKenzie, and Leah Laroque.
Organizers are very pleased with Saturday’s turnout and race director Jim Robinson told 1310News he estimates that 60,000 spectators came out to cheer the runners on.
