Steve Stewart practices what he preaches.
And now he wants his congregation to follow his lead.
The minister of the community bible church in Stittsville handed out 100 crisp $100 bills to his flock at last Sunday’s service.
He told them he wants them to first “pray” and then spend the money in a way that will make the world a better place.
Stewart also wants those 100 church members to report back to him 3 months from now on what positive change came from “paying it forward.”
Stewart tells the Citizen that his deed is an “investment in goodness.”
The money, $10,000 in total, showed up on his doorstep in a plain envelope. He says the donor wishes to remain anonymous.
