Two down, two to go: Canucks vs. Bruins

BOSTON, MA. (NEWS1130) – The Stanley Cup Final has been billed as a showdown between two of the top goalies in the league and the Vancouver Canucks‘ Roberto Luongo is ahead 2-0 in the series.
News1130 Sports Director Ann Schmaltz is in Boston for Games 3 and 4. She says if there was ever a game that Luongo needed to steal for his team, tonight is the night.
He’s been solid, but it’s no surprise the Bruins are going to be fired up for this game, finally playing at home to show their fans they haven’t given up.
You can expect Boston to come out very aggressive, which is actually good news for Luongo who says he likes to face a lot of shots early on to get in his groove.
Fans are pretty intense in Boston and many people are still angry that Alex Burrows was not suspended by the league after treating Patrice Bergeron like finger food. Knowing Burrows, he’ll use fans emotion to his advantage to elevate his game.
Jittery nerves
Building on a solid two-game lead, Canucks fans are counting down to Game 3 by dealing with the usual game day jitters and putting up some bold predictions.
Fans have been celebrating the team’s last win all weekend, but have now had some time for some sober reflection. “I don’t want them to get too overconfident because look at the first series, it was a nail biter. They could lose it [all] on one game,” says one man.
Canucks Nation doesn’t seem to be as cocky as you’d think and they’ve tamed the trash talking. Fans seem to be more focused on getting out of work early to catch the early game.
Canucks support
In a move to support the home team, Premier Christy Clark will be joined by former goalie Richard Brodeur to re-light the Olympic Cauldron today.
Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson will also be at the event which is being held at the Jack Poole Plaza, near the Convention Centre.
The ceremony starts at 3 p.m.
