Conservative policy convention draws to conclusion, delegates cast ballots on key policy issues

The curtain has come down on the Conservative policy convention in Ottawa.
It began Thursday night and wrapped up Saturday.
After working on policy all of Friday, delegates cast their ballots Saturday.
The biggest policy issue surrounded a resolution to give more power to the most populated ridings for the next leadership race.
Defence Minister Peter MacKay fought against it and is happy it didn’t pass.
“We should continue to ensure that everybody has a voice,” said MacKay. “It’s not a two-tier party, it’s not two tables, one for big, one for small.”
Another resolution that was kicked to the curb is one that try to strip the citizenship of any Canadian caught firing weapons on our own troops.
And the party also had some good news on the financial front. It says it spent the maximum $21 million on the last election and every cent has already been paid off.
