Bruins force Game 7 in Stanley Cup final

TORONTO, Ont. – Canucks fans had their fingers, toes and just about anything else they can think, crossed in hopes their team could pull off a win in Boston Monday night, but it still was not enough.
The Canucks weren’t unable to deliver, stumbling out of the gate and losing 5-2 in Boston to tie the Stanley Cup final at three games apiece.
Now it all comes down to Game 7 in Vancouver at Rogers Arena on Wednesday.
Regardless of which team came out on top, Toronto sports bars may have been the true winners Monday night.
Game six was a great “score” for downtown business owners with beer drinking, wing-eating hockey fans packing local establishments.
“It’s a good party,” Brendan, who manages the Loose Moose on Front Street, said. “Even if you don’t care about hockey, it’s good to go hang out and have fun with people who are cheering for something – or crying – you never know.”
Anytime a Canadian team is fighting for the cup, business is booming, Brendan said.
According to Brendan, this series is drawing even bigger crowds because Boston is one of the original six NHL teams.
Fans are also watching the game from home in record numbers. The CBC is reporting that Game 5 of the Stanley Cup was the most watched telecast in the station’s history.
